27.3.0941: hashtags and twitter categoriesThis post deals with an advanced aspect of using twitter. If you don't already use twitter, sign up it's fun, it's productive, addictive and like totally awesome - ish. You do that by going to www.twitter.com . Organize your tweets by tagging them with a #hashtag Now that you have twitter you may or may not know that in order to keep track of certain topic or conversations, you can tag your tweets. you do this by simply adding a hash before a word tag. For example if you wanted to tag your tweet about comics you could use " #comics " . how this becomes useful is you can actually click on the #hashtags, and a window will normally open with similarly #tagged tweets. Cool eh? Lets take it a step further.. Branding your tweets Instead of using #tags for general tagging i.e comics. You could also use it to differentiate your brand e.g #Marvel . You could even extend this to your personal brand. For example @UpbeatNow has a very interesting series of tweets called #thinktweets , each tweet is carefully crafted and valuable amongst a sea of twitter noise. I try to do something similar called #artweets . I also started a series of tweets called #whatisee . I'd like to think of these as some of the categories I tweet about. My list of tweet categories (a mixture of general #tags and some I came up with myself, also some that I did not come up with but tend to get involved with)
I'll add more categories to this list as I make them up, or remember them. You can follow my on twitter , my nickname is @artmaker Labels: Social Media

23.3.0921.2.0938. How to Procrastinate procrastination (using imagination)an observation
The world could be perfect. We could make it so. Later. Because making it so requires a tad bit of unpleasantness now. Instead of doing the 'hard thing' we imagine all the fun stuff we could be doing now. So we push off making the world perfect for another time. It's called procrastination and I think I've a way to beat it. Lets take doing the dishes for example. You bring your coffee cup and whatever to the sink, and see a couple more dishes in there and you think to yourself, I'll wash the dishes later. Yay freetime now. You have successfully procrastinated! Rewind. Now continue the 'I'll wash the dishes later thought with your full imagination, imagine how you might be busy and be forced to rush, or how the stains might set in and become difficult to wash or how you might need to make another cup off coffee and won't have another cup. or guest might make a surprise visit and see or worst, smell your sink...keep going till the thought of washing it later becomes much more painful than the act of washing it now. Then wash the dishes. Apply to the rest of life=) See you in the perfect world! ;) Labels: Tools for Real Life

8.2.0937. Kindle 2?
Music is the same, in an ipod or a sony walkman phone or a zune, it's shape doesn't change. Text and images, especially when used togeter like in comics or websites, they change from platform to platform. What is a universal size to design for? Is there none? There is no 'Standard Screen Size' Do I design my webcomics to fit a kinle, or a psp or an iphone? --- Pictured is a picture of an Amazon Kindle found floating around the internet, I don't know if this is a real product or an idea, Either way, it's pretty, and I would love to read comics on it... I wounder if anyone else would? would you? Labels: question

6.2.0936. Slogdays.I forgot to blog yesterday. I'll Catch up by posting an additional blog at some future date. ___ Last week at this time I was having conversations with God. I'm doing that again now. It's Friday.
But
Monday to Thursday have been lonely slogdays. Punctured with moments of inspiration. Quality time with loved ones. But mostly slog. Oh yes and I caught a sore throat. I spent all of Friday 'recovering' I slept for 10 hours, drank lots of water. Caught up with friends that I had 'shut out' so that I could slog. Then spent hours reading the Bible and praying. It's a dangerous way to live! I'm looking for a better way=) ___ Do you have slogdays? how do you recover? (I'd love to interact with you in the comments)
